If you are a network administrator and you have to take care of a large network, then it is probably difficult to perform the same task on every computer. It would be better to use a software that allows you to control all the tasks using just the server computer. Task Scheduler, the application included in Windows, solves only a part of the problem because it can only perform tasks on the local computer. A much better solution would be VisualCron. This is basically a task scheduler that can perform numerous tasks on all the computers in the network, while controlling them from a single location.

The program is not difficult to install and doesn't take up too much hard disk space. It supports almost any version of the Windows operating system, like XP or Windows 7.

VisualCron is actually a server and a client program in the same package. When it is run for the first time, the software practically connects to itself, allowing the user to perform all the tasks on his local computer. Installing the application on all the network computers will allow them to connect to the server just by typing its IP address and the username. The types of tasks that can be scheduled range from exporting computer settings to deleting a file or a folder or even shuttting down the system.

VisualCron can even work over the Internet, not just in a local network. This saves a lot of time and effort. The software has some supplementary features, like the ability to browse SQL databases stored on a computer or running FTP or SSH commands on it. All these tools can be easily accessed thanks to the intuitive interface that resembles the one of other Windows 7 programs. All the scheduled tasks are displayed in such a way that a user can quickly spot a needed task.

Pros

It allows a user to control a server using any computer in the network, being able to perform certain tasks on it, like saving system settings or deleting temporary and log files. Besides that, all the scheduled tasks are displayed in a graphical way, being easy to spot a specific task.

Cons

The program requires some knowledge about servers for exploiting its true potential. VisualCron is a high performance task scheduler that allows controlling a server from any location.
